Playhouse Disney

Yesterday we went to see the Playhouse Disney show. Andres really enjoyed the show and behaved pretty well the whole time it last. He got the chance to see Mickey Mouse and his friends, the little Einsteins, Pooh and Tigger and Handy Manny...

Piggy Bank

The other day Andres was watching curious george and saw that he was putting some coins in a piggy bank. After a while he started asking me for a "chachito moneias pona" which was his way in spanish to say "piggy coins put" so we went to Target to buy one and now he wants to put coins in all day. We are giving him coins if he behaves well... look how happy he looks:

Turn on the lights

Andres still can't reach the light switch so we taught him to turn it on using a book... take a look at the video. It looks dark at the beggining...

He is getting so big !!

Yesterday I took a picture of Andres playing with the trainsat Barnes and Noble. Later I saw a picture of him of last february... it is amazing how much he has grown !

St. Valentine's day party at the Eastman Nature Center

Yesterday we had the Mom's club valentine's day party. Andres had lots of fun decorating cookies and walking around the hearts and stopping when the music did. When the party ended we moved to the room next door where they had live turtles, snakes and frogs. Andres also played a while with the puppets and the animal costumes. He really loved the bee and the racoon costumes.

Andre's room FINALLY ready !!

Last thursday we finally finished Andres' room, there were minor things missing and we finally can say it is totally ready.

Trying to find different things to do while staying warm inside the house we decided to have some art time today. Here are some pictures and videos !
For those of you that understand spanish you will see that he has totally mastered identifying the red color, but not the same thing with yellow or green... he still gets confused.

Here is another picture of Mateo... isn't he cute ??

Mateo !!!

My sister Zinka delivered last friday at 9:40 pm, after being less than 5 hours in the hospital. Mateo was 3 weeks early !!! But he was more than ready to come into our world as he measured 3.250 kg and 50.5 cms (around 7.5 pounds and 20 inches). Both are doing pretty well... I can't wait to meet him. Here is a picture of him just minutes after being born.

Ana Sofia came to visit

Last afternoon Ana Sofia came to visit us, they had a great time playing together. Andres is so used to her now that he lets her sit with him in his Thomas couch (he doesn't shared it with anyone but Aarohi before)

Playing in the basement

We are spending some time in the basement this days, it is really a blessing to have that huge space for him to play. He enjoys a lot playing there... hopefully we will be able to play in the garden soon.

Trains and Noble

Andres and I go quite often to Barnes & Noble to play with the train table and then read some books. Now, every time he sees the B&N logo or is near the store, he will start screaming in the car... YEAH !! Trains and Noble... so that is the new name of the store for him. I love that he loves the place, because he can easily stay there playing for 1 hour or 1 hour and a half and having still more than a month of cold weather ahead, it is good he can enjoy staying somewhere besides our house.

Month number 7

Wow, I can't believe I am only 2 more months to go (or maybe less.. only God knows...). Today it was not "that" cold, so there was no need for coat, hat and gloves just for the picture. I will do a collage at the end of all the pictures... it is amazing how the landscape has changed in this months and how big I am getting !!...

Peruvian lunch

Today we had the "monthly" peruvian lunch at our place. As usual we ate really good, everybody brought a dish and we ate as if we were back home. It is great to have this get togethers as it is a good excuse to get the peruvian "gang" together every once in a while. Here is a pictures of the girls and Andres and Fernanda.

Saturday morning

On saturday we left home early for a trial class at the little gym. We are trying to decide where to celebrate Andres' birthday so we went to give it a try. Andres loved it, so it could be an option. Afterwards we went to the Eden Prairie Center and played there for a while. Then we met with Cynthia's family and Joe and his kids for lunch at Punch. Andres loves pizza, specially the one for dessert (with Nutella). He and Natan had a great time sitting together.

Another birthday celebration !!

I can not complain of how much I have celebrated my birthday this year. As I was not in Minneapolis for my birthday we had a belated birthday breakfast last friday with the latin group. We had a great time ! Andres came with me and behaved like an angel.

Friends from school

While in miami, I also had the chance to get together with some of my friends from high school. One night we went to Pilar's apartment, Jimena I, Maria Lucia and Ximena were there too. Andres got the chance to play with Emma (Jimena's daughter) and with Pilar's cat (though he was a bit scared). We also spent a morning with Ale Riveros and Fiorella Federicci (not from school, but know her since then). We got the chance to chat and remember stories. I don;t have any pictures yet but will post them as soon as I can.

Museum of science and discovery

One of the days we were in Miami we went to the Museum of Science and Discovery. They had an special area for toddlers and lots fo animals. They also had a plane simulator where Jorge and Andres spent a lot of time pretending to pilot a plane.

Patty's house

The last days of our trip we stayed at Patty's house (Jorge's cousin). Andres couldn;t be happier, not only for being surrounded by family, but because there was a little dog in the house and he ADORES dogs. We had a great time with them, it is so nice to be able to spend time with family !!..

Pool

The weather was pretty good at Miami so we could go to the pool a couple of times. Andres really liked it, specially when his dad played with him pretending to be a dolphin. We have tons of pictures, but here is my favorite of both of them. (See the link at the right to see all the pictures)

Helga and Klaus

We also visited Helga and Klaus. It was great to see both kids playing together again (haven't seen them since May !!). Helga was about to deliver when we saw her, actually she had her little girl, Emma a couple of days after we saw her. They also sang happy birthday to me !! :)
